ESCMID – The European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases er en europæisk non-profit faglig organisation indenfor klinisk mikrobiologi og smitsomme sygdomme. ESCMID´s mission er at forbedre diagnosticering, behandling og forebyggelse af infektionsrelaterede sygdomme. Dette opnås ved at fremme og understøtte forskning, uddannelse og ”good medical practice”. ESCMID står for den årlige ECCMID konference.
EUCIC – European Committee On Infection Control er en komite under ESCMID etableret i 2014.
Major goals are:
- to harmonize infection control and preventive measures in all European countries and to reduce morbidity and mortality related to HAI
- to develop new educational tools as well as specific guidelines and expert opinion with ‘real life’ applicability is a major focus
- to coordinate research through dedicated networking.
EUNETIPS - European Network to promote infection prevention for patient safety arbejder for at fremme et bedre europæisk samarbejde omkring forebyggelse af sundhedssektorerhvervede infektioner.
IFIC – International Federation of Infection Control faciliterer internationalt samarbejde omkring infektionsforebyggelse for såvel individuelle medlemmer som institutioner og faglige selskaber.
